In this 2-hour private tour, I will give you an overview of the rich history and architecture of San Sebastian.
We will start our stroll through the Old Town, highlighting the medieval architecture and its role in the 12th century. The Basilica of Santa Maria, Constitution Square, and La Bretxa with their history and transformations over time will be explored.
In the expansion area or the Belle Époque district, we will walk along La Concha, enjoying one of the most beautiful views of the city. We will pass by the Casino, Miramar Palace, and point out classical and modern buildings alongside the promenade. I will share the significance of tourists and visitors, that this period had for the city.
From there, we will head towards iconic buildings such as Hotel Maria Cristina, the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, and the Kursaal, a cultural center and amongst others the venue for the San Sebastian International Film Festival. I’ll share anecdotes and stories about the film festival, some of which have a long lasting influence to the culture of the city.
